Whilst we all should be feeling very positive about our upcoming summer in the events world its still very unclear.
Between the lockdowns whilst adult NON contact sport was allowed it was limited to 10 people. We expect this to be the case again for a bit meaning its unlikely we will be able to host our Rounds 1 and 2 on Oct 14th-15th
There is currently non information we are aware of for events with regards to a roadmap etc. so until then. We wait.

Mmm 👌 yeah

This is awesome news. Can we assume that there won’t be any national Points on offer for these races in 2021?

From 8th of Nov we are expecting to roll into what Regional Victoria is at now. This is their current rules. So in summary, it is expected it is still limited to 10 "Individual events, such as running or track and field events, can resume with up to ten participants taking part in the event or race at a time. The ten-person cap does not include those necessary for the event eg coaches" www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-third-step

From what I've seen adult contact sport is allowed in the next step when we've had no new cases for 14 days but they have said they may review it. Most likely late November at this stage anyway

I'd say the opportunity to run events on 14-15 Oct passed a few weeks ago!

Its WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MTB WEEKEND!
The XCO action starts tonight at 9:30 our time with Bec Henderson lining up in the womens.
Then 11:30 tonight is the mens throwdown with Dan McConnell facing a pretty big task but as his form is coming back should get a good result for Australia. Go Dan and Bec!

As most of you are aware Victoria is locked in a battle and sadly that battle continues to have uncertainty on when competition for the mountain bike community can resume.
Whilst we have rounds 1 and 2 for the series ear marked for Nov 14th and 15th, we are entirely unsure if this will happen.
We hope certainty can come and we can see you all soon under a COVID safe racing plan. But until then we can do little more than cross everything we have.
We hope to see you all soon

In Queensland and NSW whilst restrictions remain in place for public gatherings, events that have COVID safe plans as approved by the government are able to participate with I believe up to 500 participants. Whilst we would think this to be a sensible approach and that we could run COVID safe events, to date the Victorian Government we understand has indicated that the same wont be the case for Victoria as we are.. Well Victoria. So sadly we do not expect from 26th of October to be ok for racing. Yet we hope it will be www.covid19.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0025/132568/factsheet-one-appropriate-documentation... COVID Safe Events in Queensland Frequently

Good luck. Hope you can get back to putting on races soon. I wonder if there is a way to do XC racing with enduro-style timing? Basically set up timing gates and tell people they have the whole day/weekend to cover the segments. Just an idea... I reckon Strava could have stepped up/adapted their offerings during COVID restrictions.

Have not done any research, but could a time trial on a long one track loop be a work around ?

Thanks Robin, that about suits my current training regime, and budget 😬

As I read it we will be ok to race after 26 October, if cases are averaging below 5. Here's hoping everyone does the right thing and we get there. 🙄

🤞🤞🤞🤞Scott McLennan

Hoping for the best.
